Hailing from the Central Coast, NSW, laid-back 23 year old sing-songwriter Kalani has emerged onto the music scene via Australian Idol as one of the most compelling artists, blending raw vocal talent and with a deeply personal backstory. From his standout audition performance of ‘Torn’ (Natalie Imbruglia – which has already notched up over ½ million spotify streams) in his own unique style to consistent top performances, Kalani has captivated audiences with smooth, emotional delivery often compared to world-class artists. His grounded, approachable demeanour reflects the laid-back coastal lifestyle, where when not signing and writing, he hits the beach for a surf with mates.

After dropping out of school young, Kalani experienced dark periods where he locked himself away and felt alone and isolated. After being gifted a guitar by his beloved grandmother, Nanna Sue, music became his “medicine”, helping him process emotions and rebuild confidence. His willingness to share this vulnerability has inspired many.

A self-taught singer-songwriter, Kalani draws influences from artists like James Bay, Lewis Capaldi, Jack Johnson and Matt Corby, blending indie, soulful pop and folk elements. His original material and Idol performances showcase earthy, heartfelt songwriting that resonates personally.
